Camera Tips
BATTERIES:
Check the strength, for fractures of the shell, leakage & replace when needed. Remove before storing your camera for an extended time.
BATTERY COMPARTMENT:
Check for corrosion, dirt, and/or debrie. Clean often. FILM CHAMBER:
Inspect for dirt/dust/debrie, remove with a fine camel hair brush, or electronic vacumn, avoiding the shutter in the center.
OUTER SHELL:
Should occasionally be inspected for loose screws, buttons, levers, and knobs.
The BEACH: The best place for your camera is at HOME. If you can't resist taking it along, KEEPING IT IN A ZIP LOCK as much as Possible will help, but not necessarily stop sand and/or Salt from penetrating. Camera's are NOT air tight, if it's in the air it ends up in your camera.
If Submerged in Water:
Store your camera in a cooler, bucket, or Zip Lock with clean fresh water and visit a repair shop as soon as possible.
CLEANING:
Use a stiff brush on the leatherette & Solid Surfaces. Brush away from openings and wipe w/ soft, clean, lint free cloth, and/or use a mini vac (computer type).
TRAVELING: Vehicles, Aircraft or any motorized transportation; Your Lap is best place, otherwise, a well padded case will help. Seats, Floors, Trunks, Baggage Compartments; all have vibrations that can disassemble photographic equip. Never transport cameras in a suit case unless it's for carry on. FILM: The best protection is lead lined pouches, DO NOT X-RAY. Film cans and/or Zip Locks help prevent moisture damage.
